LED taillights from ebay, yay or nay?

I was wondering how many of you have the LED lights that are sold on ebay. The price is nice, but is the quality? I want to get the smoked ones, but the smoked red ones and the blacks ones have crossed my mind also. I'm also getting smoked cab lights, foglights(finally), debadging, and have already cut my stacks lower. Any suggestions? I want a nice clean look that won't look mismatched. Thanks-Rick

Wink

Looks nice already! I wouldn't change the tail lights. I am changing my cab lights though...those suckers are ugly. I ordered Recon smoked cab lights and they should be here any day now. I hope they look good. I haven't seen them on any other trucks so I hope they are everything that I have pictured in my mind.

I got mine from eBay and love them. Haven't had a problem yet and they were much cheaper than any other places out there. Here are the ones I have: LED Tail Lights

CReed....Heath (@ Recon) has ALL the paperwork, WITH PART NUMBERS that you'll need to install on an 07. How do I know? I wrote it.

As far as I know there is no light out there for the 07 that is direct fit, and ALL of the problems I RESOLVED while helping RECON, you'll have.

The wiring is different, the outer studs are different.....

And those do not look exsactly like the RECONs I have on my truck, though they are a little less $$$.

At some point one gets what they pay for...so I'll anxiously await your feedback!

There is a thread, somewhere here, with pics of my truck and the RECON taillights.

I have had nothing but a great experience with them....read my sig....I have almost all they offer for me.

The good thing about competition is....price errosion. If the quality is there, it might be worth a call to Heath to perform a sanity check on pricing.

Anyway.....you 02-05 guys will be happy to know that RECON should soon have projector headlights avail. They look awesome...at least the ones I have seen. Hopefully we'll see some pics of the test fit this weekend!

Let us know, whoever gets these, some detailed thoughts.

I had all kinds of Recon stuff on my old truck. My opinion is there stuff is cheap crap. I had 4 dually fender lights fail in 6mos. When I traded the truck 2 were bad and I had called and emailed many times and been told replacements are on the way. CRAPPY customer service, never got them after 2 months!

Thanks for all the feedback. Any more suggestions on which colors i should go with?

I originally planned to go with recon, but after hearing about backorders and seeing the price comparisons, I think the ebay lights would be definitely worth it.

Far be it for me to beat up a company in puplic but it seems with Recon after you start posting your probloms were anyone can see it they start talking refunds and helping fix the probloms.

On that note, all the negitive stuff I have read on Recon made me get my LED stuff from other places as well,I did way back when get some cab lights, opened the box see the cheap way the wiring is and returned it to adv auto, were I got them.

At least ditch the stickers you have all over the tailgate.....I'd ditch the chrome ***** too
I keep considering the LED tails. One day I'll most likely swap them out. 22.5's and N-fabs will come first

I have these same lights, and they have been great. Better visibility, and no more bulb changes. Lo leaks, and they fit great. I had to change my lights anyway. Over time, the screws that secure the bulbs to the light housing had rusted so bad I had to drill them out. In the process, I ruined the bulb housing.

I plan on debadging and losing the stickers, but the ***** were a gift from my girlfriend (I won't even go there), so they're a little sentimental. I think I will go with the ones I originally posted. Thanks for all the good replies, keep em coming!!!
