93 dodge 5.9 160 HP.
There is a steady stream of fuel flowing at the bottom of the pump about in the middle on the engine side. Is there any bleed screws or gaskets that could have failed that would cause an external leak. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Truck has 160,000 miles on it. Also would anyone have a good diagram of the pump, or a source where I can get a good repair manual for the 93 cummins including fuel injection section.
Thanks in Advance
Jim

There is a cover plate on the back side of the pump, facing the engine. It is oval shaped and has an o-ring seal under it.
It can fail and cause a leak.
The only solution is to remove the pump and have it repaired as you can't get to it without removeing pump.
I have done it 3 times on my truck and other times on customers trucks, so if you don't have the right tools your in for some fun, not saying it can't be done.
You will need a tool magnet, gear pump puller, 17mm cutaway socket, mirror, pump wrench or remove sterring pump/booster to get at nuts (not hard, 2 min job, just pull power to oil sender).
1 person can do the job but a second hand would be nice when aligning pump shaft keyway to gear. Be careful when pulling pump out as keyway in shaft can fall out and drop in gear case. Same when going back in. Use magnet on end of pump shaft when pulling nut and washer off/on so it can't fall inside gear cover. Torque pump shaft bolt to 48ftlb's to finish.
Hope this helps

In the future I would suggest not posting that type of picture when giving technical instruction. I kept forgetting what line I was on and what I was reading about. Now I might end up asking about that subject in the future and you'll have to repeat yourself. [eyecrazy] [laugh]
