Leaky Head
I have a leaky head gasket. The very front of the motor on the passanger side it looks like there is a leak between the head and the block. Looks like. My question is, Is this an expensive repair? Can I keep driving for now. It's my buisness truck and I have another month of towing a trailier 1,000 miles a week. Then I can put it in the shop. While she's in there I need the power stearing pump seal replaced. Anyone remember what that NAPA part # for the garket that can be replaced in that? Any other ideas? I have 148,000 miles on her. SHe is just getting broke in and I don't need to have a major repair problem. My truck will be paid for next month !!!
Thanks, folks

I would say get it changed as soon as possible as you dont want to be stuck along side of the road some place and how is the oil and water any mixing of fluids that is if it is the head gasket and I just had to do mine and I cost about $200 but I all so changed the thermostat and coolant

That is a common leak. The head gasket has to be changed. It will keep leaking more until you fix it. Mine generally went a few thousand till I could not keep up with it. The new gaskets are updated for this problem.

I haven't noticed any mixing of fluids yet I talked with a mechanic yesterday and I haven't got a price yet. I hope I can get out for $200. He told me that it was a common problem as well. I hope the leak doesn't get worse. I travel at least 800 to 900 miles a week, and need to make it until Nov. Also my power steering pump has been loosing fluid for about a year now. Towing I will loose about 1/4 of a quart every 1200 miles. Empty the same every 2000 miles. Any ideas on this one? I heard about the gasket you can buy, but I also have heard that it doesen't solve the problem???
