Leaking windshield wipper fluid bottle.
I just noticed that my windshield water bottle is split and leaking, unfortunately, after I just poured a whole bottle of fluid into it. I called and they cost $53. Has anyone fixed their leaking bottle or should I go buy one. I wasnt sure if they are prone to leaking. The leak is right on the seam were the two sides are joined together. Plus it almost looks as if I have to remove the top radiator hose to get to the bottle.

Katoom,
I don't know if a repair would hold at the seam there, because of the vibration of our trucks. It might be worth a try though. However, you might be able to pick one at a salvage yard for less money than a new one.

$53 is quite a bit.....you could check with a truck wrecker....or if looks arent important, get some of the Steel Impregnated epoxy putty (Permatex makes it). I fixed my air box with it after the quick oil change guys busted it. You can file, sand, and shape it after the repair. Use RTV on the inside and this stuff on the outside of the rtv and Im sure it will hold.

Thanks for the tips. I'll try something. I just didnt want to have to take it off. Like I said earlier, it looks like the top radiator hose has to come off. I would assume the entire seam is prone to leaking though.

Katoom--Your washer bottle should be made up of polyethylene. As an auto body instructor, students plastic weld these items all the time. If you don't have a plastic welder, a soldering gun will work, just "fuse" the plastic back together. Magnum
