More information can be found over at So Cal Rattlin Rams (http://www.socalrattlinrams.com/), but here's the initial posting by Bob4x4:

SoCalRattlinRams and Carli Suspension is having their first annual Mojave Road trip. We will be starting in Barstow on Dec. 29 and will arrive in Laughlin on Dec.30. We are planning on celebrating the new year in Laughlin for those who wish to stay. This trip is open for anyone who wishes to join us and we feel the more the merrier. Although stock trucks should be able to make the trip, suspension upgrades and tires are recommended.

The Mojave Road was a main wagon trail for only a relatively short time, two decades after the civil war, when the railroads came, as the railways created an easier route to the south complete with oases on the bitter-dry deserts. While it was used, the Mojave Road was a route plagued by hostile Indians, a lack of water, long stretches of sand and rough hill climbs. For caravans of travelers and a handful of soldiers, it was a proving ground that brought out the best and the worst of them. This trail is unique in that for most of this 138 mile stretch it is in much the same condition as the pioneers would have found it, and a lot of the trail passes through country that is virtually unchanged since prehistoric times. The road bisects the Preserve, wandering from waterhole to waterhole, and is mostly a 4-wheel-drive trail.

Does this mean your black truck will be getting dirty? [laugh]

Shoot, my black truck is always dirty!

But to answer your question, hopefully! I'm still trying to make a day trip out of it. Mounting up the spare M/T tomorrow just in case.

Maybe I'll try to make the trip in my little Polaris? Can you fit my Ranger in the back of your truck Pauly?

I think so. My golf cart fits fine.

You can do it, just not as comfortably ;)

From what Bob says this is a run fit for the family, so modified trucks aren't a must. I believe there are a couple pregnant women going for the ride [laugh]

I'd LOVE to, but the wife and kids won't ride in the 96 anymore....too small. I spoiled 'em with the manvan. Considering I spent way too much time on the bumps just getting out to the washes @ 10MPH, I'm thinking my front is way too softly sprung.

If I can do something with the kids, I'd be inclined to run my 2nd gen, it hasn't stretched it's legs since I got the new one.
