I am thinking of getting some kool-vue power heated tow mirrors but see that they dont come with the mounting base. my truck has factory power heated paddle mirrors. what bases are needed for these mirrors? will they mount up to the 02 factory bases? also are these mirrors a direct plug in, or do you need to wire them to work?

The Koolvues bolt right up. The mounting brackets they mention are an interior support bracket due to the bigger mirrors. They can be mounted without the support brackets, but it's not recommended.

As far as the wiring, plugs right in. Just be careful when installing that you don't pinch the wires as many have done accidentally.

I bought mine from Fenderworld. Mirrors and brackets for $347 shipped.

Had them on my 2000 for 3 weeks before I traded it. They worked very well for the price. The only issue I had was the mirror seemed to wiggle around a bit at speed. Not bad, but noticeable.

I don't know what I was thinking, the ebay ad said no mounting bracket supplied, I was thinking it meant no mirror base. I'm going to order them now. thanks for all the info
