Exclamation Who the ^&*$ knows?

My first visit to the Dodge dealer has me remembering why I've owned "other" vehicles in the past.

1. Can the 03 CTD get the lights/ radio etc. to stay on after the key is off or not????

I hear others on this site say that it can. The dealer flashed my truck with TWO updates and still could not get to the "spot" in the system to enable that feature...After 2 hours!!!! Then I get a call- because I left after the 2nd hour, from the service mgr saying he does not believe the 03s have that as an option.
======================
2. Same deal with the "idle up" option. they could not get that working either.

Again, some here say they've got it....Anyone care to share how to get to that option in the hand held computer? I'll give you the dealers number!
=======================
3. Was it me or did I miss something....I was under the impression that "we" 3rd gen owners, HAVE A LIFT PUMP UP FRONT...They tell me that ALL 3rd gens CAME FROM THE FACTORY WITH THE "IN TANK" LIFT PUMP....

Who is right on this one????
=======================

Is there any Mitchell or other reputable repair manuals available? It appears the only way to get something done is to do it yourself....Or atleast educate yourself and bring proof when you need a dealer to get involved.

One frustrated CTD owner Frustrated 'cause I took the day off of work thinking that these issues would get resolved quickly...NOT. And I just picked up the truck two weeks ago from this shop and had their "top diesel" mech on the job...And this is after slipping him a CASE of beer for a job well done BEFORE he started...Maybe he was hitting the sauce before doing the work

I'm not sure about the lights/radio thing. Mine does not (early 2004) nor does any of my friends with 2003 and up Rams 1/2, 3/4 and 1 tons up to 2005.

2003 to 2004.5 have/had filter housing mounted lift pumps, mine was there before implementing the Walbro.

Sounds to me like you need a new dealer that can read TSB's

Idle up is not offered in the 03 models

Only the 05+ trucks came with the in-tank lift pump, 04.5 and below still had the regular lift pump.

not sure about the light/radio deal

it's called "Delayed Accessory Power Shut-Off" on some other brands

our trucks don't have it.

seems like maybe possibly the Triple Dog can enable it?

search BullyDog's site for that

And ya know the scary thing...
Their top deisel mech, as he is plugging in the computer, starts cracking jokes about how he cost the dealer $900 for flashing someones truck with the wrong software...

I almost jumped in the truck and left at that point.

I've got to find a reputable Dodge dealer in Upstate NY....Way upstate.

DC calls it a few different things depending on the vehicle "Retained accessory power" and yes some of the cars it's called "Delayed Accessory Power" so they aren't consistent on what it's called.

2007 1500's this is supposed to be standard but my dealer has no idea how or if it can be done to our trucks.

Problem is, He wasn't really joking. I'd bet $900 that he has in fact done it.
