I know...another programmer question

Hey i have a tow rig that is a 99 4x4 quad cab with a little over 220xxx on it with a 5 speed. the truck is all stock, except for a straight pipe, but doesn't seem to have the power that it use to (she was rode hard and put up wet when she was newer). i'm getting the valves adjusted but my question is what programmer should i go with. i ONLY tow a 5000lbs boat and don't really want a bunch of horsepower or anything. i only want a little more SAFE power for towing. i will get guages and put a K&N air filter in to help the breathing. i was thinking a superchip but i'm not sure. i don't want a smarty or adrenaline because i don't want a wicked amount of horsepower, like i said just some more for towing the boat at a reasonable price for the chip. thanks in advance

The Edge EZ is the one your lookin for. I had mine for over a year and never had a problem just wanted more power.

Super simple to use, plug and play hook up, 3 stage, moderate chip for someone looking for a little extra pow.

Check it out I think for the cost and the power it gives it's just what your lookin for. http://www.edgeproducts.com/product....ge+5.9L+24V+EZ

The smarty alone has the same power as the edge EZ on a VP44 truck.
I had the edge pulse, a mix of EZ and comp.
Now I have a Smarty.
I'll write my subjective pros and cons of the smarty compared to the EZ:

PROs:
Adjust tire size, get a correct speedo and odo reading.
Extremely adjustable- nice to tune towards an auto tranny.
Code reader with short text and code number.
Online Updates
You can combine it with a lot of boxes
CONs:

Changing the low boost fueling takes about 2 minutes (compared to only seconds on the EZ)
If you forget to reset to stock and the dealer reflashes your truck you have big troubles.
You need a PC running Microsoft Windows (tm)

My Edge Pulse had a hardware defect after 5 years of use. (I did not contact Edge)

Just my 2c

Thanks, i believe i'm going to go with the edge, i have always had good use with their products and to be honest, as great as the smarty is i just dont think i would use it enough to justify the cost. the truck is a 5speed and i'm not planning on stacking anything with the box or lifting the truck or changing tire sizes, like i said, i'm just pulling a boat with it and doing odd jobs around the property. thanks for all the input guys.
