what kind of speakers?

I was just wondering what kind of component speakers the infinity edition equipped trucks come with. I have Infinity door 6.5 Infinitys and want to know if they are the Kappas or references or are they just some specially made for dodge?

the infinity in my 05 sounded really good. the 06 is not even close to the quality but its not infinity either. I would like to upgrade speakers sometime.

They are a line made just for Dodge they do not compare to the Kappas or referance series drivers. The quality is godd but they have a low RMS wattage listing. Dont try to put an amp behind them as they will blow if running more then 50 watts RMS.

I went with Boston pro series with the Boston GT40 amp pushing them. Hands down blows the infinitys out of the water. But honestly you cant go wrong with the Infinity's, Boston, Or JL audio If you plan on adding subs under the seat Boston, JL and audiobahn make some good 10' s for it. I have tried the kickers and a few others and they sounded like you were beating on the bottom of 2 5 gallon buckets. For the 10s add as much power as you can afford to push them trust me you may not want a ton of bass and thats fine but the quality will be better even at lower levels.

Go with MB Quart. I have the Q Series front and rear 6.5 front and 5.25 rear. True concert sound and the mid kick is great but they do require very good quality power. Just my .02......

Smile

I took out the paper junk the first week I had my truck and replaced with infinity kappa's and a perfect 10 VQ sub. I get compliments all the time on the sound quality and I don't even have an aftermarket head unit yet. I am going to get an alpine and amp for the door speakers when my free year of sirius runs out. Listen to some different speakers if you have a chance, I stood right next to a friend listening in the store and I preferred the kappa while he liked another brand better listening to the same music.
I have a polk LSi home theater system with pioneer elite receiver and it makes most everything else I hear sound like crap but I still like the quality of the kappa's and perfect 10 sub in the truck.

What is the next best thing to MB Quart? I have the very good quality power well, maybe a little better. At this point in my life I can not see spending the coin for the MB's, 10/15yrs ago I would have. I am after sound quality so I know I do need to spend a little more than the bass lovers will spend.

After I install my equipment the weak links will be the speakers (replaced ASAP after the install) and the head unit ( replaced when/after I find a decent replacement for the stock radio that looks like it belongs in that funky hole).

IMO you can't go wrong with JL Audio...especially the nicer Evolution line.

Just be prepared to add an amp if you really want it to sound as good as possible.

Thanks everyone for your help I have been looking at the kappa 3 ways which I like but I will try these other brands. I have heard of Boston being good as well as polk so I will hit up frys or best buy and be one of those annoying guys who trys out all the speakers really loud lol.

Infinity Reference all the way around...

6.5 shallow front and rear doors...3.5's in the dash...(2) 10" under the rear seat.

Drive them with 50-75 watts each...crosed over right...250-300 each to the subs...

All smiles...and REASONABLE cost.
