I bet you can if you use a fuel conditioner. I'm not sure the lubricity is the same. If it's less than #2, you'll mess your fuel system, then mess yourself at the bill for fixing the fuel system.

With the conditioner, the savings are washed anyway.

I wouldn't do it.

Pretty strange though, kerosene is more refined diesel fuel, so you'd think it would be more expensive. Much like diesel is cheaper to refine than gasoline, yet is more expensive to buy.

I have safely ran 25% in a MB turbodiesel. Have also ran it in my 06 CTD, but at 15% without problem.

kerosene is of the same weight as the fuel mixed with #2 diesel for winter blend it has a lower cetane rating also notice higher temp's on the heavy equipment i would check the sulfur content if the refiners are having to bring down the sulfur to ls or uls levels you will have to add 2 cycle oil from wall mart and i would still blend with #2

I saw a paper written by Cummins somewhere, maybe on the Cummins site. It basically said if it meets the on high way diesel fuel standard for lubricity and such you can use it, but they worded it such a way that they did not recommend it.

4 or 5 gallons makes a good anti-gel in the winter. Read somewhere it's "drier" than #2 and doesn't lubricate as well. Nothing a quart or two of two stroke wouldn't fix. Try it in your truck and keep us posted..

I think its cheaper because there is no road tax applied. I'd say you'd get a similar fine to running red diesel if caught.

Put a few gallons worth of biodiesel in with it. Tons of lubricity there!

That is a darn good price for Kerosene as that price is $1.00 per gallon cheaper then what its sold for in here in north IA. If you do decide to burn it then then mix in 5 gallons of B-100 Bio diesel or a few qt's of Non Detergent 30 weight engine oil per tank.
