Keeping the tank full
I keep my truck as full if not completely full of diesel as much as possible. When it gets to about the 3/4 mark, I fill up again. (Also makes me think I am not spending as much money when I fill up........LOL)
Question is: Is this going to eventually lead to some disaster? I have read about algae growing in tanks, water developing and so on. With approximately ever 10 gallons of diesel that I pump in, I add one ounce of a diesel treatment solution that I purchase at the local Cummins diesel shop.

On the 05's and newer a full tank is always better because it helps keep the lift pump cooler. A full tank on the 04's and earlier could help due to fuel being high enough in tank and the lift pump not having to pull so hard, this is very debatable though. Certainly no harm that I know of could come from having tank full all the time.
If your using an additive in the fuel you shouldn't have to worry about algie growth. I think algae growth is over rated unless you live by the sea, then it could be a major concern.

if worse comes to worse the tank is not that hard to drop and clean.
i pumped mine out while doing the vent kit mod, accidentally hooked the pump up backwards and filled it full of waste oil. so yeah, it should be really clean. starting fluid, rags and a shop vac will make it like new.

i run a couple gallons of gas in mine by mistake ever so often, that kills, cleans, and embarasses in fell swoop.
really, i think a few gallons of gas should be good to clean things up, add a quart of oil for lube, and put it on the spin cycle

I might start filling up every day, those $100+ fillups are very depressing. Diesel bill this month is higher than the house note and I dont use the truck for business. That is just not right!!
