Keep the Van Aakeen or not?

I just bought an 01 six speed that already had the van aakeen installed in it. I want to put some gauges in it. Question I'm having is should put pillar gauges in it and keep the VA or buy an edge juice with the attitude? If I keep the VA I'm gonna stack it with a smarty later on. thanks

Keep the VA.

You don't need a Smarty if you have a VA-- the dyno won't show any more -peak HP with the Smarty.

If the VA is the only mod, you don't HAVE to have guages, but it's a *very* good idea.

If you go past the VA, then a pyrometer is a MUST.

If your going to tow, I would put some gauges on it. You need to monitior your fuel pressure. The LP's on that truck suck . I just installed an AirDog 150 on mine..., no more lp problems. As you can see, I running a Van Aken on my 01.5. It works well for towing. My next purchase will be Mach 1.5 injectors.
