Welcome to the DTR Forum..!!!!

The Killer Dowel Pin (KDP) is a located behind the front timing cover. The KDP can works its self loose, fall out and cause serious damage to the timing gears. The fix is very simple. Do a search on this forum and you will find many detailed post that will help you with the KDP fix....

Thumbs up

I think it's an alignment pin for the gear cover on the front of the engine,I just killed my pin ,it was sticking out about 3/16" It is really easy to fix if you use the kit from TST the instructions are good and the help on this site will pretty much take care of any problems you may encounter

Drew

Only 1994-1998 trucks seem to be effected by the KDP. I know some 24V engines have it and some ppl tab it, but i have not heard of the KDP problem on a 3rd gen like yours...
