Kdp problem again
My kdp let loose huge chunk out of the INNER timing gear case. I j-b welded it now heres my questions found the pin itself can i reuse it? Also can i tab it myself with the welder? Also can i rtv the cover gasket instead of buying another gasket?

Okay have cover back together and now i dont rember how to get the fan on i unbolted it from the block and dont know what bolts to use i belive there 10mm but i dont know if there all the same length and that on that right behind the pulley im at a loss with this truck already

The dowels are there to keep the case from walking during operation. There is a big heavy pump that takes a significant amount of power to turn, it can and will walk even with the bolts tight.

Put it back in or buy a new one for a buck.
Many people have the misconception the pins (there are two) are only there to locate the case during assembly.
Cummins says they're there to keep the case from moving.
The bolt holes have slop and without the pins the timing gear and camshaft gear will push apart from each other leading to impossible to keep timing set and rapid gear wear.
