KDP and connected componets
Going in to do the KDP next month. While I am there, what else should I replace? I believe the water pump is there?
Anything else that is suspect at 180K miles? Tensioner? pulleys?
I have 2 weeks to take it apart and get it together so I want to check / replace that which could be a problem.
THANKS

While your doing the dowel pin don't forget to locktite the case bolts. If one works its way out and drops into the gears it can actually do more damage than the dowel pin.
Might as well do the water pump and thermostat, and since you're doing that you could do a complete flush and refill, also replacing the radiator hoses. If the belt is getting old you could replace that too.

Do a search, there is a way of doing it without using the dial on the plunger. As long as you know what the pin in the pump is set to, you can rotate the crank CCW the desired amount. IE, if you wanted 16 degrees and the pump is locked at 12, you'd back up the engine 4 degrees.
