Just wondering...
Even though I have a pusher pump, my lift pump died, and so did my truck. I just installed an HRVP, so what I am wondering is whether or not my BRAND NEW HRVP is doomed? I have a feeling that I won't like the answer...

Hey Ian
I think since its a new pump you should be ok?
As you know its a crap shoot but I heard of a lot of pumps runnig fine after losing a LP.
After changing out the LP does it still run ok?

How long did it run after the original LP died? I am surprised the truck shut down with a pusher, the vanes in the original LP must be closed. Either replace the OEM pump, or remove it altogether, and the truck should be fine. I would not worry about it.

I put the new lift pump in today. I couldn't figure out what the problem was, mainly because I assumed the pusher pump would still be giving enough PSI for the truck to run fine. I'm somewhat somewhat skeptical about the longevity of the HRVP...I haven't driven the truck since I put the LP in, I'll find out tomorrow how it runs. Thanks Paul and Tiny for the thoughts. I guess we'll see.
I'm more worried about the loss of lubricity and the loss of temp. control in the VP than anything else...I poked in the schraeder on the VP and barely a trickle of fuel came out, same with when I cracked the lines to swap the LP out, there was no reverse flow coming from the VP...
