first let me thanks you guys for the info on the searches on this site it is truely alot of help and for your direct replies. a month ago i brought my brothers 97 one ton 4x4 into shop . nv4500 toasted from rear seal leaking. replace clutch turn flywheel install rebuilt nv4500 ( old one was two toasted to rebuild for me) also gutted transfere case and resealed it and reassembed . then onto the front of the engine . new radiator , new waterpump , thermostat, a/c pump, fan bearing and idler bearing and belt. then while installing upgrades on steering ( the bracket for the steering box extention bearing and the '03 trac bar kit) i found the ujoints in the front end were bad and axles were leaking 90wt. so new seals and ujoints. now to get a/c recharged tommorrow and off to line up shop. test drive a couple of weeks and back to the ranch. i have not worked on my cummins any amount its a first gen. i got all the info off this web site. again thank you ( by the way bill for parts used up the better part of 4.5k)
