I got the 150/95-1008 model for my '01 CTD from Rip over at Source Automotive. He seemed like a very nice and informative guy and said that this model is good for Stock to about 500hp. The kit comes with everything needed to get rid of the lift pump woes.

Anything I should look for during the installation or know ahead about when installing this? Many folks have used and plumbed this kit up so any advice to help before we start putting this kit on would help.

Rip said to plumb it to the factory fuel filter instead of straight to the VP44 for 2 reasons...(1) it keeps the factory fuel heater which is a very convenient thing and (2) it keeps the 'idiot' light for water in fuel so in case you get a bad tank of fuel, you'll know it's bad and can drain the FASS which hold around a qt of water.

thanks for any advice or thoughts on the product and/or installation or general information that would help me install, run and maintain this FASS system.

c'mon someone's gotta be using this setup? I'm sure there are pitfalls or certain quarks you guys know about.

I have the 150/150-1008 and I'm very happy with it so far. If you have the long bed, chances are pretty good you wont even have to drop the tank at all to hook the supply line up. I was able to squeeze up between the side of the bed and the frame rail, and Im a big guy. I dropped my tank only because I was installing a Vulcan Draw Straw. Now that I've had my fuel module apart, I'd say they're not really needed...the factory draw tube looks to be close to 3/8". Anyways, make sure you lube the fittings before you put them in the fuel lines...they're a bear to get all the way on. Also, tieing a zip tie around the release tabs on your fuel supply fitting on top of the tank works great for getting the fitting off. The zip tie will hold the tabs in. Make sure you get plenty of zipties ahead of time to tie your fuel line and wire harness up.

Simple install. I took the factory filter off. Just drain the filter every 5 thousand miles or so.

yea pretty simple install, I also dropped the tank to make it easier. the hardest part we had was figureing out how to get the "quick connect" fittings off of the tank. The assembly of the unit is very simple. With the 150/95 my psi is at 15 ideling and at speed, under all-out acceleration with a chip it drops to 13 and I cant seem to get it any lower, so I am very pleased.

Thanks for the info...I called up Source Automotive again today and they said the 15/95-1008 is good to about 525 or so hp (which FASS calls moderate hp cutoff level for my truck) ...I also asked about adding a draw straw which I guess is a larger diameter tube to help pull fuel from the tank and they said that the draw straw is more for the 150/150 unit application where there will be some cavitation of the fuel coming out of the tank...with the 150/95 there will not be any cavitation issues is what they told me...I do have a long bed so that will help with the install I guess...

trust me, it makes it much easier. I helped install a system on a short bed, and it was a pain in the *@! .

I have a short bed also. I have had a preliminary look underneath and I can't say that a great location for the pump jumps out at me. I thought I might have to weld up a mount that I could bolt to the inside of the frame rail. A plate with some square tube extending at right angles to the frame looks like it would make for a clean install. I really think a better bracket could be provided for this application.

If you have the time, space, and help take the bed off. Makes everything SO much easier IMO!

Also, make sure you have all the correct pieces before you start, my buddy just got his fass with the wrong piece that connects into the stock filler neck, it was about a half inch too small...anyways good luck!

yeah, mine was missing a few pieces when I got it, make sure you check that. If you have a short bed, I think they want you to mount the bracket to the rear cab mount. If its a long bed, you mount it to the bed mount.
