Nice rig. You running bags over the rear? I recently built a flatbed for my 98 and it is nice to be able to overload the crap out of it without worrying about dinging the bed rails. I recently put the 4' stake sides on and filled it above the roof line with fresh cut hardwood (red oak) and it was getting close to the stops in the rear. I've had quite a few heavy loads like that, so I think the springs aren't as arched as they should be. Road pretty nice though, must have been at least 2 tons, then another at least equal amount load in a trailer behind.

Bottom line is I think some airbags are in the future, building a road in the back yard for more firewood, moving more boulders, blah blah.

Only 40 bales? I used to stack our old 80s half-tons til they would barely get out of the barn.

Is that some sort of bale bed or just a flat?

I've figured out how to stagger which side of our utility/landscaping trailer to drop the bale on from with the hydrabed to be able to lift them back off again with it and haul 4 per trip. Saves a ton of miles when the pastures are 25-30 miles from home.

Nope no bags just factory over loads. It's a standard flat bed when we're feeding full force I put four bales on and go. When were hauling out of the field I load 15 of them on the goose neck and go.

What are you baling?
Looks like wheat straw.
Buyers from the mid-west have been contracting for Montana wheat straw at alfalfa prices this year.
They're gassing it with anhydrous to jack up the protein.

We cut a mixture of barley and alfalfa with a little bit of weeds we just put up feeder hay so its mostly forage and supplement with protein tubs..

We've been getting grass/alfalfa mix from Minnesota. The cows like it, but then again they've eaten everything but the hogweed, even what they can reach through the hi-tensile fence. We have a Cummins with a hydra-bed and a Duramax with a Besler bale-bed, the hydra-bed is a lot slicker set-up, gives you a flatbed when not using it, and the hydraulics are motor-driven instead of electric.

Spent most of the last two weeks hauling feed home. "Feed" is Nebraskan for hybrid cane.
