has any one get really wacky Egt numbers, My egt probe is mounted pre turbo. Some is happen two times before like it would be at 680 dreg. forever just idling and it wouldn't drop after that next morning I came out to go to work it was at 600 dreg. at start up and it sat all night. tonight I dropped my gf off and I turn off the truck and when I came out and started it jumped to 1,023 dreg. and quickly went to 450 dreg. Any one know of any fixes

Just a guess from my electronic days but it is a themistor I believe and have seen them wear out for lack of a better term. The resistance doesn't change no matter the temperature. Since the gauge is looking for the voltage change to represent a certain temperature, if the resistance is not changing due to a faulty probe, it is providing a reading based on what ever voltage is present. If you can access the probes leads, hook up an ohm meter to it and see what it is cold. Then start the truck and see if the resistance changes. If no change, you need a new probe. If it changes as things get warm then there is something wrong with the gauge. Hope that helps.
