I am looking at the four Saturdays in January to set up the first meeting for Virginia DTR Chapter #7. January 4th, 11th, 18th, and the 25th are the four Saturdays. I am trying to stay away from Sundays for church and family days but they will also work for me if that is a better day.

I am thinking somewhere like Pizza Hut in Smithfield for the first meeting. I am going to look around and see what is available as far as places to meet and talk. I would encourage you to do the same in your area. Once we have a good list of places to meet, we can alternate the locations of every meeting if that is what we choose to do. That way, no one has to travel the long distances all the time and each of us will get to see some different places maybe.

Look at your schedules for January and let me know which days will be the best and which ones do not work. I am building a list of the days that people can and can not make it. I will look at the list in about a week or so and pick the day that the most people can make it and set it up from there. We will go with the majority and the rest can make the next one. I am also open to suggestions for a better meeting place. It would be nice to get everyone but life may not permit that all the time.

If you have a friend that wants to join, bring them along. I will have the forms at the meeting. If you are not a member of Chapter #7 yet and want to join, send me your e-mail and I will send you the form to fill out and get back to me. This is a family thing so lets have a good time.

Thanks and look forward to the first meeting.

dieseldude4x4 (Joel)

You guys start meeting at seafood places, you might get some pilgrims attending. I remember a nice seafood bar A couple miles north of Norfolk General on Collie I believe. Another nice place over by Sandbridge, south of Virginai Beach. Have to check my long weekends for this winter.

Well, this really sucks! Won't be able to make this one either. Our squadron is up to our armpits in Toys for Tots and the C.O. has decided that we ALL will work this weekend down at the Salvation Army/Toys for Tots warehouse in Chesapeake. :'(

That's Ramminon, (Keith) and he was taking pics too.
We went to the pottery and hung out in the parking lot after this while the ladies went wallet burning. Nothing quite like a bunch of guys standing around a few trucks in a big empty parking lot on a freezing cold day with a gentle breeze rolling down out of the north about a thousand miles an hour. We're havin some fun now.

Dennis didn't have to worry about having the dirtiest truck with or without the anti-grunge lens since I showed up. The red bow on the front of the truck is to draw the attention away from the salt spray and mud on the rest of it.

All I have to say is that Dieseldude4X4's rig sounds AWESOME :o :o ;D ;D in person. If I could talk my wife into the stacks I would do it in a minute. Of course, then I would have to up the HP to make it all sound and run to match the look ;D

Joels stacks do look good dont they. The meeting was a lot of fun. Im good for having one again soon. Seems like we had twice as many trucks this time. It was good meeting everyone and putting faces w/ the names. Tim
Thanks Joel for keeping the power on, my lights flickered Saturday night.......was that you?

Yeah, the hamster got overexposed and we had to swap him out real quick.

Good turnout, I would like to set up something towards the end of February and one in the end of March. Once April gets here, I will be here at work most of the time until June so will not have much time to play. Look at your dates and another location and give me some ideas. Top wants to have one out his way, maybe he has some ideas. There is a Grannys restaurant right off the first or second exit coming into Virginia on 64 from WVa. I think it is one of the Sulphur Springs exits. Stopped there on the way home from Kentucky and ate, was real good. I would like to have them in different locations so everyone has a chance to make one meeting anyway. We should have one down around SmurF'ville somewhere too.

I'm open to suggestions for places and times. I don't mind driving at all but I don't want to keep having them in the same place so some people have to drive the furthest all the time. I think we need to spread it out but you all tell me what works best.

Waiting for your replies to set up the next one. I love it and enjoy every meeting.

Joel
