Jammer stg5 EGT's

Wondering wether to get the stage fives or not. What can I expect as far as egt's with the stage5 sticks pulling 20,000#? Dont mind not being able to run the edge juice w/attitude just need to be able to pull that kind of weight occaisionally and don't want to melt it down. So when i'm not pulling I can run with the box and run quick.

i don't think your stock turbo would hold up towing all that with the 5's. Maybe a set of the stage 3's for the time being.

I've grossed maybe 16-18000 with jammer 5, smarty, and stock turbo. It's fine if you keep an eye on the pyro. I've found if I lock out O/D I don't have to worry too much about egts.

WOW -

What smarty # were you on? Lately due to the heat and humidity I've had to slice it back to #3 or #5. ANd that's unloaded

I can hit 1500* empty on a 0 to 60 run with juice on # 2. Now it has been around 100 degrees out and I'm at 5000' elevation. On # 1 on the juice, I can't get over 1300* no matter what I try. I have never towed that heavy so no idea what that would be like.

I CAN hit 1500* empty as well if I want to. When I'm towing I ease into the fuel and I don't really have any heat issues. It will smoke a good bit upon takeoff.

I have a PS62/12 sitting on the workbench though Hopefully that will clear up some of the smoke.

I have the DD Jammer Stage 3's, and a comp box, hauling a D5 Cat (22,000lbs), I had a hard time on hills keeping it in the safe zone w/ the stock HX-35 with the box any higher than 1x1. Now when I haul the D5 I can put it to the boards on 5x5 and it never gets above 1350.

IMO, you're going to have a hard time pulling that much weight even with the box off with 150's, at least up hills.

Can it be made to work....yes! Especially in the flat mid west. Will temps get toasty...yes! Definately a challange.
Your key word is "occasionally", IMO. May require lower gear...higher rpm's and box low or off! But worth it to play hard...if not towing regularly.
A PS62/14 (due to 6 speed) would be my next step.... would be a BIG difference!

RowJ, why a PS and not a SPS? Just wondering, does the larger turbine cause issues when towing???

Don't know enough about it to recommend it. Sounds good in theory and on paper...just not big, as a general rule, on custom modified turbos.
