Jack points underneath truck

Just curious, is it ok to jack up the front end by putting a jack under the lower control arm mounts? What do you guys do?

I'd like to get all 4 wheels off the ground for tire rotation. For the rear I just use one jack in the center of the axle to get both rear wheels up.

I lift each side of the front axle up at a time. I would not trust putting that much weight on my control arm mounts.

same here, one side at a time. if i'm feeling lazy i just put the jack on the pumpkin and jack it real high until the lowest side is high enough, slide the stands in, then let 'er down . . .

I don't like using the control arm mounts either but on the passenger side there's no other way. Might have to use a smaller jack.

My 2wd is low enough, I jack up at the frame rails and use jack stands.

For the rear, I use the pumpkin and 2 jack stands on the axle.

I have always used control arm mounts just long enough to get the jack stand under.

When in doubt, pick the solid axle.
