It's time for a new lift pump!
Okay, I have 95,000 miles on my truck...93,000 are highway miles without any mods, but the last 2,000....well, you know what I mean. Now when I go to pl3 and get on it hard, it feels like I'm not getting enough fuel. Then I let off of it some so I can still finish showing off and it's okay. But when it's to the floor and taching high, I don't get enough fuel. I wish I had a guage, but I can't get it until next week. Now my question is what lift pump to get? I have looked and looked and found that they are not cheap. I don't want to spend a fortune, so I was wondering if that BD-Power lift pump would be a good choice? It is around $250. and the Walbro and Fass are closer to $500. which I really can't afford right this moment. Tell me what you think. Everything was fine until I started adding hp and I'm pretty sure the stock lift pump cannot give me enough fuel. Also I just changed my fuel filter and it still does the same thing.

BD lift pump
The BD lift pump will work but it is really noisy. I even used 3 urethane isolation pads and it was still noisy. I finally had to shuck it and get a Walboro kit from GDP.

If thats the case how do I go about getting my $100 Deductable back!!!!!!!!!
I argued for over 20 minutes with the service manager and he said I'm not getting the keys back unless I go see the cashier first.

OK, quick comment. If your truck is under 100K and under 5 years old, it should be no deductable, if under 100K and over 5 years old than there is a $100 deductable fee. With yours being an 03 it could be very close. Check your inservice date from Dodge, if nothing else call customer service and ask what the inservice date was, if under the 5 years go get your money back. Go to the dealers general manager and file a complaint. If over the 5 years than guess you have to spent the money.
Sorry, didn't notice that it wasnt the original poster that was complaining about the deductable. With an 04.5 unless they have seen your mods and you are under the 100K there is not any deductable. Your dealer shafted you. Go to the general manager. On the 04.5 because the pump is mopunted onthe fuel filter it is under teh Cummins 100K engine warranty wiith no deductable. Call customer service and they will confirm that for you, then politely go back to your dealer and demand your money back. Have them show you on the work order where Chrysler said $100 deductable and if they entered it correctly they can not as Chrysler does not want the deductable for this repair. I have 3 local friends that got charged and by demanding a refund all got their money back. They can enter in real time and DC will tell them what is required for deductable or not provided they enter all info correctly. Have him show you the page in their warranty book and if you will read it with him it says "Cummins engine warranty, 60 months under 100k no deductable, over 60 months to 84 months under 100K $100 deductable" Only difference is it is listeted in monnths. I was able to argue with one of my repairing dealers and read over his shoulder and he finally admitted that he was trying to use the 7/70 on my 04.5 till I pointed out from my warranty book the items covered in my book.

You want cheap, Procomp blue ebay 50 dollars and adapter and strainer from Lary here( DTR) 18 inches of fuel hose and 4 clamps. One 12 volt relay: use the stock hot wire to trigger the relay. Maybe 100 dollars total.

I don't think the warranty applies to me because I bought the truck used with no warranty. If it was, they probably wouldn't honor it with the mods and such. I'm gonna check out this ebay pump and see what its about. I wonder if I'd get enough fuel pressure for more mods?

I checked it out and I don't know. Everything keeps pointing me to that Walbro kit. I might just have to break down and get the credit card back out. I see a complete Walbro kit on ebay for 379 and it even comes with the pre filter (great, another filter to change). I was kinda hoping to just spend 249 for that BD power one, but if it's that noisy I might be better off with the Walbro. Man, that picture of that kit looks like it would take me half a day to put that on. Wife is gonna be mad too..I been parting with my money on that truck like a little kid. Anybody else have that BD and it's loud? I might not hear it anyway cause I'm half deaf from shooting all my life with no hearing protection.

if you get the gdp kit, they send you 20 or 25 feet of hose, and you don't need all of it to put the kit in. I made my own big line kit by using spare hose and going over to the local performance shop to get the fittings and did it for half the price gdp wants for the big line kit, and i still have about 6 feet of hose sitting under my back seat as a back up if anything gets cut or needs to be replaced. They do say its worth 2 -3 psi at the cp3 and it increases the volume from the 1/4" line to a 3/8" line.
