Isspro pyro guage failing.

I dont know what the deal is it only works part of the time . I called isspro and i dont remeber who i talked to and he told me that it had to be my fault like the ground or something. I know i hooked it up good but just to be on the safe side I went back in and checked everything even made sure it was grounded good. What do yall think the guage is going bad or what? IM just trying to figure out how i can get a new one without having to buy oone. I Havent had these guages for even 6 months yet!

Isspro guages are guaranteed. Call them back and talk to someone in their Technical Department.

I'm still having the same issue Charlie... Need to call Isspro again...

Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesen't sometimes it jumps around like crazy. Acts like a bad ground, but I have checked and moved and checked...

Now I'm thinking it might be the plug that connects the gauge to the amp box.

I'm running isspro gauges also. Fuel pressure was fine at first 10-30 miles and then it just dropped like a rock to about 5psi. At start up I get about 15 and before I can get out of the driveway its dropped to 5 again. Put on another one and had good luck for a couple 100 miles, then this one did the same thing, good pressure at startup and then it crashes. I'm not runnig an isolater, any ideas?

Are you using a needle valve or anything to dampen the pressure pulses?

Yes, take a close look at the wires on the amplifier box. They are screwed in there and the screws can back out.

are you sure its your gauge and not your lift pump?? since youre not running an isolator, id be looking at your lift pump as the culprit.

I thought the same thing, unless FP pulsations are killing the gauge from not running a needle valve.

Thank you Mr. Evil, I'm off to check that.

I am running a needle valve on mine, and never have had pulsations. Just had the injection pump done on the 5 year warranty, they said the liftpump checked out fine, but to monitor it. Sorry, I hope I'm not hijacking this thread. Thanks, Matt

Evidently my box is different than yours... No screws, just the wires coming out. And I was hesitant to pull the box open and void my warranty.

On a maybe related note the white sticker was on top of the yellow one, the white on says ungrounded thermocouple only, the yellow says grounded only. The yellow one is vinyl, the white on is paper with a sticky back. I pulled it off to read the one under it just now.

So what is the difference in probes?

I'm not a FP expert, but I would think it would be your LP getting weak.

And if you are hijacking the thread, I am to, we can hire the same laywer, split the legal fees

I had the same problem with the pyro on my old '93. It would peg, then down to zero, bounce around quite a bit. I called the dealer I got the gauges from (Diesel Injection Service, no longer in business) and he sent me a new one before I even returned the old! It was just about a year old. That was about 6 years ago. I sold the truck last year, and the new one was good til then.

I bought mine from City Diesel, same deal, they sent me a new one, told me to sent the old on in the box with the sticker they sent, I was happy with that end of it, but I was less than thrilled with their tech suport, but still happy with them.

Mine never goes high, just bounces around, usually lower than it should be reading, like if I am cruising at 70, it will bounce between 0 and 300*...
