Isspro gauges
Where is a good place to mount the control boxes that come with the Isspro gauges for the pyro and the tran temp gauges. Which would be better the engine compartment or the cab.
The instructions aren't too clear on this matter.

I attached mine to a metal bracket inside the cab and just below and between the steering wheel and clutch slave cylinder pass-through openings - if all that makes sense.
I first held the green amp box in position (which turned out to be tilted some, with the wires coming out the top and angled toward the driver's seat) and marked the 1 hole I needed to hold it in place with a magic marker.
In order to drill this hole and I had to remove the bracket. To do so I had to remove the bolt that holds the big wiring bundle to the end of this bracket, slide this wiring bundle off the end of the bracket and then remove the 2 screws holding the bracket to the firewall. After drilling the hole it's just a reversal of the process to get it back into place. Once in place again I positioned the amp box, slid a 3/4" 10-24 screw through the hole on the amp and the hole in the bracket and secured it with a locknut.
By putting it in this location I was able to connect to the pyro probe using just the wiring from the amp box. This allowed me to keep the hole through the firewall as small as possible.

I need to modify my comment about my thermocouple wires passing through the firewall between the steering wheel and slave cylinder holes. I drilled my pass-through hole between the slave cylinder and main wiring harness pass-through holes and directly above the steel bracket I mentioned. You can check my gallery pictures to see this hole from the engine compartment side of the firewall. I just took some pics of the actual mounting location of my amp box from inside the cab that should help explain what I'm talking about. You know what they say about a picture is worth a thousand words . I think these pics will help explain a lot (once they're approved for upload).
