I have 06 short bed and installed isspro gauges shortly after buying truck. I currently only have about 10K miles on it and both the EGT and tranny temp gauges have had to have the amp box replaced. Seems excessively short life span considering the miles of use. Bought my kit from Diesel Manor but since beyond the year warranty had to buy amp boxes from Danin/Issppro at the tune of 40-50 bucks each.

Any others have problems with the amps boxes?

I like the look of the gauges but am considering going to AutoMeter or AEM for replacements.

70,000+ miles on my Isspro EV2's. Not a single issue. Heck, even the bulbs are original.

I'm running the ISSPRO EV gauges. Tranny/boost/EGT/FP/RP gauges. And I have had to replace my box once. This was 30-40k miles ago, haven't had an issue since.

I went through Diesel Manor aswell, when my box went south they had no issues replacing it for me.

So, you are talking about the CLASSIC ISSPRO gauges ? I believe they are the ones that use the amp boxes. I ran the CLASSIC gauges for close to 4 years without any problems whatsoever.

Recently, I decided to do a 'makeover' in my gauges and mountings, I changed over to the newer electronic EV2 gauges. They are also working just fine, I have quite a few hours on them so far, no problems.

I have been VERY pleased with the ISSPRO products and would buy them again.

I have the EV model gauges. I was wondering if when I charge the batteries on the truck once a month if that would have something to do with high rate of failure. I use an electronicaaly controlled charger so I know it doesn't overcharge the batteries. I have noticed that when I take the truck to work about one or twice a month the voltage runs as high as 14.9 to 15.0 - I have a trailer brake controller from Hensley that gives me the system voltage. I use the truck mainly in summer to tow our Carriage Cameo fifth wheel, but I am still working full time so we only get out about 4-5 weeks a season.

The symptoms I have seen with both gauges is erratic movement of the needle - jumping way up then slowly settling back to a more normal temperature. I have the gauges mounted in a dash triple pod on top of the dash. They all share their grounds, power, and light connections. Just their respective sensor connections are unique.
