Isn't the fuel tank vented????

I have a 98 24V.
Yesterday when I took off the fuel cap it made that sucking sound...and has never done that before. I am almost sure that these things had some kind of a vent or something. Do they get plugged up????
Where would I find the spot to "unplug" so it will properly vent again.?
Thanx,

The vent is on the tank module. Here is a link to the information and location of the valve.

I have checked and re-checked that vent and know it's open, but I still get that pressure release everytime I crack the fuel cap. It is bad enough on long trips that it will lower the fuel pressure readings. To compensate I just leavethe fuel cap on loose.

Can the fuel line connecters coming out of the tank be replaced with a short hose and clamps ? Mine have some play in them.

I have the same problem. The vents are open but I still get the pressure release.

I read in another thread that it could be caused by the injectors not being seated correctly, but I have ruled that out because I recently replaced them all and it did it before and after.
