Intermittant power and no codes !!!
My truck never has consistent power, this week i put two 500 pound snowmobiles on the deck and headed down to Fernie (3 hour drive) the truck was falling on its face the whole time. If i started a long hill at 70mph i would be going 50 at the top with my foot to the floor, boost around 18 psi. If i had a 3000lb trailer i'd be doing 35 at the top...
On the way back from snowmobiling i could maintain 70mph no problem on the same hills, boost was still 18psi but i had tons more power. The vp44 and lift pump are new, fuel pressure is good. I even bought a code reader to read a clear codes but it doesn't have any up. I'm going to check the resistance of the IAT sensor. Is there a specific resistance or voltage for the MAP sensor that i can measure?
I took the truck into a diesel shop a few months ago they found the 216 code and replaced my VP44. Performance hasn't changed since, it is still has intermittant power and they say nothing is wrong.
No idea what to check next... also just for information my edge comp that i just got back from edge doesn't work either. Could it be my Ecm or one of the computers ?
