intermitent block heater

Has anybody had any problems with getting their block heater to work every time you plug it in? I have used mine every year and sometimes it does not work and some times it does on the timer and off the timer. I may need to replace the plug on the end.

You might want to try and disconnect then re-connect where the cord goes into the heater. The ring unscrews, then pull the cord straight out from the heater. Then, hook it back up again. I've heard of a few other guys having the same troub.

Definitely a connection problem. Heater elements either work or don't. You may just need to reseat the plug. Or just might be a bad plug.

Re:intermitent block heater

thanks for the replys i did discon the cord from the block and try to seal the edge around the connect ring and thought that did it but it didn't. I think you guys are right that i need a new plug on the end. Every time it has not work i have plugged the drop light to it and it works . I guess it time for a new male end on the heater. Thanks agin.

Any chance that the connection is wet or dirty? That may be another cause that I can think about.
