Interior plastic color
How do I know the Dodge name of the interior plastic parts of my dash? Agate? Black? Tan? Is there a code to identify the specfic color? It's the truck in my sig. Thanks

I'm not sure where you can find the code, but I have the dark gray interior in mine and it is "agate".
In 2001 there were three color choices(not sure if they are the same as 98).
Dark gray or charcoal is called AGATE.
Tan is called CAMEL.
Light gray is called MIST GRAY.
Hope that helps.

Thanks, I guess I have agate since I don't have tan or light gray. The Dodgeparts website lists Agate, Cirrus, and Suede as the 3 colors, I figured I had either Agate or Cirrus which is the light gray I guess.

Trim Codes
Trim Code can be found on the radiator support or under the passenger seat on 1998-2001 Dodge Rams.
Just replaced my 2000 Ram 1500 dash cover with a new one from Dodge. Color was close but not quite right, Dupont dealer mixed a pint of interior paint (code LAZ for Agate), $45 bucks but it matched perfectly.
I suspect all Dodge interior plastic is factory painted because the finished side of the dash cover was not close in color to the underneath side.
Here's an interesting link where I obtained the below image:

It depends on what plastic you are talking about. I assumed that you were talking about painting the pillar.
And I have the "new" interior on a 98 and its mist grey.

If you intend to paint interior trim parts, I would highly recommend the Dupont interior paint despite the high cost.
Not only did the agate color match exactly, so did the gloss (or sheen).
The painted upper dash cover couldn't be distinguished from an original factory dash.
