Intercooler Tech?

Anybody modify an intercooler? I was thinking about how hard it would be to try and join two intercoolers together for more cooling capacity. Now this may be way off but I was pondering cutting two coolers to weld them together or by running the intecooler ducting into a Y pipe to enter two coolers out another Y pipe to go back to the intake. Sound crazy?

Sounds fun!
Only thing is our intercoolers are so big, the upgaded ones (Spearco, Cooltwist, etc.) dont really do much for the money. For around a grand you get 150* egt cut. Not worth it in my eyes.
I would be interested to see what would happen if you did that project.

I would use a used intercooler and not pay anything near that much to do the project. Problem would be finding a place for it in the engine bay.
