intercooler or Radiator
My aluminium trans cooler between the rad and intercooler is leaking and was wondering what is the best way to get to it? the AC is in the way with the one hard line can't really move it enough to get the cooler off or out enough to work on it, before I drain the rad are there any tricks to getting to it? This is on my 03

I've never done it
But the book says:
REMOVAL—AIR TO OIL COOLER
(1) Remove Charge Air Cooler
(2) Place a drain pan under the oil cooler.
(3) Raise the vehicle.
(4) Disconnect the oil cooler quick-connect fittings
from the transmission lines.
(5) Remove the charge air cooler-to-oil cooler bolt
(Fig. 6).
(6) Remove two mounting nuts.
(7) Remove the oil cooler and line assembly
towards the front of vehicle. Cooler must be rotated
and tilted into position while removing.
Then put it back:
(1) Carefully position the oil cooler assembly to the
vehicle.
(2) Install two nuts and one bolt. Tighten to 11
N·m (95 in. lbs.) torque.
(3) Connect the quick-connect fittings to the transmission
cooler lines.
(4) Install Charge Air Cooler (Refer to 11 -
EXHAUST SYSTEM/TURBOCHARGER SYSTEM/
CHARGE AIR COOLER AND PLUMBING -
INSTALLATION).
(5) Start the engine and check all fittings for
leaks.

where did you get that manual? and I already removed the intercooler problem is finding a replacement oil cooler, no part # on the old one, and dealer of course needs to take it apart at $90+ an hour. has anyone replaced these with an after market cooler that doesn't cost an arm and leg if so did you cut the fittings out at the hard line to hose and just clamp or does anyone know what size the fittings are so I can go threaded to barbed? I have done a search but obviously not asking the right way

Like I said in my original reply, I have never done it. But that doesn't mean I wouldn't tackle it if I needed to. It looked to me from the diagram mq supplied you, the hose is pushed onto the cooler and clamped. I wouldn't expect a barb. As for $90/hr, if you are pulling the cooler yourself, the dealer doesn't get any of your money till you show up at the parts counter. A call to Parts ahead of time and the guy should be able to bring the part up on the computer and tell you the charge. Looks to me you might save $40 at the link mq gave you.
The manual tells you to disconnect the quick-connect lines from the transmission lines. I haven't crawled under there to see, but I'm guessing if you do that, and buy the cooler from the dealer, it would be a direct replacement. But, you may be able to pull the hoses right at the cooler.
Someone with experience should chime in today.

That's the correct part, although the picture doesn't show the cooler you need. Ignore the picture. What's pictured is called the cooler, torque converter (which is over $600!) and is at the back of the block. I believe you want 52028915AE, which is the Trans oil cooler (goes next to the radiator.)
