Instrument Cluster Self Test !
I just found out about a diagnostic SELF test for the instrument cluster !!
With the Key OFF,
#1) HOLD down the Trip Reset button on the Odometer.
#2) While STILL holding the Reset button, turn the Key to the ON position (do NOT START the engine).
#3) Continue to hold for 3 seconds and RELEASE
#4) The odometer should now read CHEC and will begin a SELF TEST.
#5) After a series of LCD test, it will display a couple #s and end with 999. This means the LCD part is OK.
#6) Hit the Reset button ONCE and the Self test will continue to check the GAUGE and idiot lights. You should see the gauges swing right in stages.
Hope this helps! Good STICKY info!!

Yes. Mine actually passed.
I still need to check out that CPS and some wiring before I conclude the ECM is toast. I'm pretty certain it is though.
BTW, when I orginally called my local Dodge Service Mgr about my truck's issues, he said my instrument cluster was shot.
Thank goodness, I got advice from you and others here BEFORE I wasted a couple hundred $$$$ on a replacement instrument cluster!!
Anyways, I found the above cluster test in my research.
Stay tuned. I'll should have an answer soon on my truck.
