I tried those little plastic bracket things, but I had bad luck with them cracking since I like to be able to tie/strap stuff to some U-bolts I put in the box. So here's how I did mine:

Get four stainless bolts, six fender washers, four lock washers, four regular nuts and four lock nuts (they're thinner than the regular nuts).

Put the box where you want it and line it up so it's straight and even. Drill four holes in the bed rails where you'll be able to reach them on the underside.

Now move the box out of the way, slide it back, whatever.

Slip a bolt with a fender washer on the head up through each hole, slap a fender washer on it, and secure it with the thin lock nut, creating a sort of stud.

Put the box down over the studs and finish up on each stud with fender washer, lock washer, and regular nut.

Get it all tight and it should be nice and secure, plus you can put some U-bolts in it and use it for tying stuff down instead of trying to get to those front bed tie-downs.

Yeah, but I was trying to avoid drilling holes in the bed rails.
Don't they make a quality version of your first attempt?
I can't believe they made them plastic.
Thanks for the help.

Get 4 J-bolts, and hook them under the bed rail. They work, and you don't have to drill anything.

I've never seen any that aren't plastic. J-bolts are fine as long as you don't want to tie anything to the box.
