installing gauges ???'s
First gauge is the trans temp. I have the NV5600 6spd manual and it had FAST coolers previously installed. From what i read the cooler should have a plug ready for a sending unti to be put right in...my question is more along the lines of should i go ahead and drain and change the fluid when i do the sending unit install? I was thinking of going to a better quality trans fluid. What do you guys recommend?
Next is the new mechanical boost gauge. Its an autometer 0-60 psi...and im not sure where i can pick up a vacuum/boost line for the plastic tubing to run to the guage...where do you guys have your mech gauges connected?
and lastly...does anyone make a pod that sits on the dash of a 2nd gen for 3- 2-5/8" guages...ive heard of them before...but dont know where to find them. Thanks for all your help folks!

trans temp on a 6 speed? i dont see this as a problem, but i dont know what you do with the truck. i would go ahead and change the fluid if your digging in there anyways. redline MTL.
take out the 3/4" pipe plug on the intake manifold and use adapters to get it down to the size you need. just behind the fuel filter i believe, but you should double check that. pipe plug, it should be between the numbers 4 and 8.
not sure on the gauge pod. try summit racing or jegs or something to that affect. dont believe they would be specific to the dodge but they might work out for you.

tried genos garage and found a dash pod...but cannot find anywhere if a 2 5/8" gauge will fit or if its for the standard 2 1/16" gauges
and the tranny temp is because i drag race alot and tow a heavy trailer about 6-8 times a year. Prolly could get away without it, but I have it..so why not install it. I already have the tap for the sending unit isntalled (just checked)

The autometer boost gauge I got had everything I needed to install it except for an 1/8" NPT tap and a 5/16 drill bit. Originally I was going to just pull the 3/4" plug and then step it down to 1/8" with adapters but thought that was really cheesy with all those adapters so I drilled and tapped the intake horn instead which to me is a much cleaner install. One thing I did do differently is I inserted the clear 1/8" tubing into some black 1/4" tubing for better looks and added protection for the tubing plus it helps keep the clear tubing from binding up and kinking which it liked to do.

i cannot find the boost bolt on genos site? is it a replacement intake manifold bolt with a tap to screw in the fitting?
i may end up just tapping the intake horn and doing a clean install there.
down the road ill be doing an oil pressure gauge and water temp gauge as well. so ill be back with more questions.

That boost bolt is on PDR's website here
PDR
scroll about half way down the page. It's kinda spendy for what you get. If I were you I would just tap the air horn. Just make sure you take the air horn off before you tap it so you don't get metal shavings in your intake.

dont need a boost bolt, all you need is a 3/4" to whatever your fitting is bushing, (i needed two to get to 1/8") and install it in the spot on the manifold where the plug is, it was easy.

Using the 3/4" to whatever fitting is cleaner looking-it hides way in the back of the engine and is nearly unnoticable. The other options have the tubing out getting in the way of things and look like spaghetti.

Hey man any one of these ways will work for ya, it's all a matter of personal opinion. If you feel that the boost bolt is worth $18 plus shipping then you should go that route it would make for a clean install as well.
