Installed - Rear brake guards!

I finally found them! Up here is Saskatchewan with all the gravel roads, the rear caliper slides get destroyed by the rocks. Here is the site of a company that makes them.

http://www.excelaguard.com/index.html

They are stainless steel and are a quality fit. They attach to the caliper mounting bolts. They cost around $100.00 canadian and for me it's money well spent. The 4 boots and 4 slides that I had to replace cost $70.00.

Hope someone finds this useful.

Hmmm. Never heard of those. No need for them here in Virginia...

Neat - had them on my list of mods a year ago, but never got around to finding them. We have plenty of white rock roads around the ranch, so I think I might have to make a set.

I put those on as soon as I bought my 04.5 and left for the Yukon. some guys were having trouble with rocks around here (central Alberta) so I figured good protection for up north in the middle of nowhere

Yes you can! Anything can be blamed on electronics - thus some of the issues with the new trucks.

Now, back on topic, those are a really goos idea IMHO for those that drive alot on gravel. I have to check them out further.

They look like they would definetly do the trick.
How much of a PIA were they to install?

Once the wheels are off, it takes about 5 minutes a side. You don't even have to remove the calipers. Just remove the 2 caliper bracket bolts, hold the bracket in place so it doesn't move too far on you, put the guards on and re-torque the 2 bolts.

For info to the guys in the US, I just received an e-mail from a guy who determined that these were not available in the US. He ordered them from Canada and shipping was about $50.00 to Colorado.
