Installed HTT 64/65/13ss!!!!

Off with the stock charger and on with the HTT, Ive only had it on for a few hours and its been raining like crazy. I really like the way this turbo spools, it seems to be a little slower than stock but when it gets going it has great power. Im pretty impressed with this turbo, I think it will be a great turbo for towing as well. The install took about three hours without removing the manifold and was pretty easy. I highly recommend the 64/6513ss to anyone looking for a quick spooling turbo that doesnt want to give up alot of low end. This turbo has a much more noticible sound as well, and the power is very smooth from it. I have tried it on stock programming and it will spool but a tad slow but can easily see 30psi, with my predator on extreme it will hit 42 no problem. Thanks to Rip, Jmccart, and Homewrecker for all the help.

Hope you like it. That same turbo on my truck was too laggy for me with my tight converter. Once it did spool it took off with a lot of top end compared to the stocker, but towing 15k fifth wheel I couldn't keep temps where I wanted. The stocker was much better for me, but with your 6 speed you should be fine. I decided to take it off on a hot afternoon when going about 57mph with converter locked up and went to pass a vehicle and smoked out the entire highway and it felt like I couldn't get around the guy, but at 65ish it lit and I was gone, but from 57 to 65 waty to slow to spool for me.

Good deal.. That is my dream turbo.. and figure since I am doing a cam and 50hp nozzles in the spring I should be able to spool that sucker faster than stock.

If you are doing a cam and 50hp tips I would almost going a little bigger, but there is no doubt that it would definately spool the 64/65 quick!

I think you will like it. I have the same one and it does seem to spool slower than stock. But when it spools up, hang on.

I have been considering this one too, but after reading this and other reports of slower than stock spooling..........I think im going to have to go for the stocker/s400 twins.

In the heat we are having here lately, I smoke even on the stocker. If I put on the same 64/65/13ss turbo....I bet I would be smoking out the highway too. My truck can put out some smoke.

I would imagine the stocker/s400 twins would spool like stock but give me more top end and much better cooling. Only speculating here.

..

XX22 the guy is already swapping tips, might as well put at least 90's even 120's since he has a man. trans. and can control egt's better on the low end by keeping the r's up along with boost.

In a few months I'll be going for bigger twins and stixs, I was curious on the 64 for the top and with my mods, I think I'll be okay when I do tow 14K trailer/cars.

Its not all about power, but towing and economy.... If I could take the fuel economy of 50's and get 0's I would :-)

I also live at altitude, so its a toss up between the 62 or the 64.. I don't want to have to worry about it when towing at 6k feet. But a 6x/65/13ss is a good turbo regardless.

I just installed the 62/13/65ss HTT I love it! Oh and 50hp DDP nozzles, and boost fooler, and intake horn. It's amazing, lots of top end, I can punch it in 5th gear going 55-60mph, and see 75-80mph in a flash, shift in 6th and floor it and see 95 in another flash lol. It was a little slow without the nozzles but still good on top end the nozzles just made it come alive! I'm very pleased with that turbo, and a big thanks to all who helped in my decision!

I had a 64/71/13. Spool was a tad slower than stock. EGT's were hotter cruising, but @ WOT they were cooler. I had the 64/71/13 with stock stixs and also Flux 3's.

The 65 impeller keeps egt's cooler while cruising, but @ WOT they would get a little hotter. While the 71 impeller would keep egt's cooler @ WOT rather than cruising.
