injectors/smoke/clutch...... Oh boy....

So I'm about to hit 160K miles and have been cruising along pretty good. I've been noticing extra smoke these days so I'm figuring it's getting close to the injector change thing. Today it was noticeably worse after my 3hr down/back camping trip.
I've been trying to search the thread for answers, but the search function isn't working for me. So, here goes yet another injector question thread.
I'm mainly daily driving now, I do pull a 5er flat bed w/ 4 to 5 quads and 65 gal water tank on it every couple weeks. There are a couple passes and some steep grades and I like to run 80 ish.
I noticed a bit back that when I got on it real hard the clutch started to slip - I backed off real fast..... So, I've been nursing it along with no other slippage. Freak incident??? I can't say. Maybe I got something on the plates that needs to be cleaned off, don't know.

Question here is what injector - if any. Do I find some stock replacements, do I find new tips? Where is everyone getting stock replacements and tips? Or, do I get some of Don's Mach 1s and take a chance of putting too much on the clutch?
I have a dual material South Bend rated at 500 hp/1000 ft/lbs - if I remember correctly. Does this sound correct?
I also run the south bend hp clutch master/slave on it. Early dynos put me at 400hp and 890 ft/lbs.
I'm on a pretty tight budget these days, pay cuts haven't been reinstated here in the office. I can't afford sending $1100 out to have these looked at and played with. I'd rather change them out myself if possible with something a little more reasonable.

Thanks for putting up with me...
Greg

Naw man. one thing I have noticed is that those clutches are under rated on hp and torque. I know that homewrecker put a lot of horsepower down on his and it was far over what it was rated. I have the Con FE and I am over 500 hp i am certain. I havent been on a dyno with this setup. But it grabs and grabs. Some DDP 50's would be a good choice or some of Don's fluxes. The mach injectors are for vp44 trucks by the way. I think you'll be just fine with whatever you choose.

Took some advise from a guy I ran into a while back.... I put half a quart of Amsoil ATF in the tank (only had half tank of fuel). Drove 30 min to work - starting off it smoked like crazy, by the time I got here it was getting lots better. Let it set an hour or so and had to go back out again. Barely any smoke, no hard start. By the time I got back, near nothing for smoke - just like it use to be..... I can get on it hard now and have a little puff, but that's it. Guess it was only dirty injectors....
Temp on the exhaust ports were within 20* of each other last night when I checked, so wasn't sure what was really going on. Took a chance and it paid off.
