What injectors for P-pump swap?

if someone p-pumps a 24v, do you need special injectors, or will off the shelf 24v sticks work.

there is a chance im doing this over the winter, and i want to start getting my ducks in a row so to speak.

the p-pump would be roughly 450-500cc with a 4 or 5k gsk (looking to turn about 4200rpms) staying with single charger, getting a maxspool cam etc.

I've been under the impression that you can make regular 24V sticks work, but the conversion works a lot better with injectors that have the pop pressure modified for the P-pump.

If you set the pop-of where it should be, you'll be fine.

Some brands seem to work better than others. I've only tried 11 sets so far.

how difficult is the swap itself? i figured ill buy a kit from scheids or piers with the timing cover, pre-bent lines and other misc stuff...

anyone know what needs to be done to make my factory guages and dash work?

Ron,

do you think the issue is the injector or the weird pump pressures throught the rpm range?

Dave.
I'm not sure what the problem is. I have heard of guys having good luck with the same injectors they used with the vp44. I had a terrible idle when hot with Jammer 1's, 2's and 4's that i got from DDP. Don made me a special set of Mach 1.2's and it idles like a dream. My new pump seems to tolerate other injectors a bit better, it might be ok with the DDP's now. I have made my highest hp with pop offs set at 310bar(large nozzles) they were something i borrowed. I haven't checked where Don sets mine at, but I imagine they are lower than that. The conversion can make pretty good power with smaller injectors. The right pump won't loose steam at the Mach 7 level. I guess the p7100 can maintain a spray pattern with larger nozzles where the vp starts acting like me when the old prostate flares up.

I had my front housing machined to accept the cam sensor so all my gauges would work. Have to relocate the ecm, the check eng. light will be on all the time. Just stick some black tape over it. I had ross & lenny fix me up some injectors with ppump pop off press. I went through 3 sets of jammer 5's in 2 weeks they did not like the ppump. Do you have to cut pistons to run a maxspool?...........

No greg says you can run stock springs and pistons with a MaxSpool(24v) but with the 12v, you'll need springs if you plan on turning some RPM's

That Burnt orange color is sweet, if my truck ever gets hit or I win the lotto I will be painting mine a similar color.
