Ok i read to do a resistance test on injectors done this all is fine, now im gettin pretty well tapped out of coin bein off work since may( economy) and am wondering wgat goes most of the time on these injectors the nozzles ?i am not making oil just hard start and smoke, and i would much rather just have to buy nozzles rather than whole injectors, i had them in my hands when isnstalling them in new motor they looked fine so my question is it mostly nozzles wearing and screwing up sparay patterns casuing the tell tale dodge issues?? thanks for your time and patience

hard to start usaully means they are lettting feul return to the tank to easy and that does not allow for pressure to build up

From what i have found out unless a nozzel cracks or breaks it is not the issue. It is the internals in the injectors. They are all machined to tight tolerence to hold alot of pressue. Due to multiple injection events, this poor quality in ULSD fuel from any source and the lack of factory filtration, these parts wear out of tolerence then the issue just componds expodentialy due to the pressure the system runs. I have been advised more than once if one is bad do them all as it is only a matter of time. the longer you run the less likely you can rebuild them. double to triple the cost for new ones, as opposed to having rebuilt. Fewer and Fewer places rebuilding them due to BOSCH is getting stingy with parts. I sure can understand a tight funds but appears you may just be running on borrowed time as I understand it at this point.

if the solenoids or the nozzles dont go then it is the internals...more specifically the "ball and disk" system. the firing of fuel into the cylinders is not created by pressure like the old diesel systems. the firing is created by the solenoid magnet lifting the ball, which sits inside a countersunk half moon hole in the disk, and the fuel passing through this gap. if you dont have good filtering this is one of the spots that gets effected when the ball goes to drop back into the hole and slams down on a piece of grit. this will cause the pressure on top of the ball side to leak past and create issues. i work on common rail injectors so thats how i know this.

look at the sticker on the valve cover if it says 325HP then its 04.5 if it says 305HP then it is an 03-04

well this guy has a stock truck with no tuning so he doesnt need those injectors with those bigger nozzles. stock bosch injectors will be the best for him.

yes rob it will be stocks , just for giggles i took them all out pulled nozzles off clean the bejesus out of them they were very dirty lots if crud inside and stuck them back in no difference so im destined to buy all new ones , however now i developed a fuel leak somewhere??? what is the line on the very back of the motor for and is there supposed to be a seal washer between it and the motor im thinking thats where it is leaking , thanks for alll the words of wisdom guys

and mine is 325 hp so 04.5 i guess it is injectors end in #s 309

Yea sometimes cleaning the nozzles wont cut it, possibly the nozzle holes are plugged up or the needle has been dulled from the debris...OR the internal components (the ball and disk system) have been dulled or pitted. if need be you can call me up if u have more questions about these injectors. also i think those numbers that end in #309 are the nozzle numbers, correct?
