injector modification

is there any way that i could drill out the stock injectors to get more horseys in my 93 w250? and if i did what size bit should i do it with or how should i go about this? i remember hearing someone saying that you can do this, but it's expensive to play around with, so some opinions would be good. thanks, Gregg

Sure, it can be done. But you run the risk of ruining the spray pattern, and the injector. N fer the price companies r charging for cores it really isnt worth it honestly.

Theres a ton of companies and options for injectors. U just need to figure out your ultimate goal.

The drill bit would be a little bigger than a human hair. Those holes are tiny.

Stock IC trucks have .009" holes.... that's a small bit. I don't think drilling them out is a good idea.

I'm sure there are smaller bits available but I don't know where. A number 80 drill is .0135 inch. That is the smallest that I have ever used and it took a milling machine with a special minature chuck with a finger feed and 4300 rpm too prevent breakage. I have read here that POD's are .0140 inch at the tip holes. At only $440 plus s&h I would go that route instead of risking tips that cost $85.00 each. Now if your tips were as bad as mine they probably need replacing anyway. The choice is yours. By the way, I thought of doing the same thing but I let the stock injectors get away from me in another deal. Oh, be ready to have them edm'd. To my limited knowledge, that is the only way that a drill of that size can be removed without further damage if it gets chip bound and breaks in the hole.
