Injector leaks

So i sold a set of DD2's to a guy, he had them popped and the shop said all 6 leaked. What would be leaking?
They ran great in my truck when i pulled them. I'm gonna do the right thing and get them back and refund him his money.
I'll probably send them off to get repaired then resell them.

Could be the springs are weak or the plunger/seats are worn.

...and thanks for doing the right thing! i have bought and sold several parts on several diesel-head sites and all have been very successful. a good community of enthusiasts is a rare find anymore.
did the shop say where they leaked? from the tip or around the body? seems like you should have had issues if they ALL leaked!

Thanks Don.
I did replace them with a set of Mach 3's.
I'm curious to find out what exactly happened too. Like stated you'd think i would have had issues if all 6 were leaking.
Those Mach 3's are great injectors. Love the extra power.

Oops, I set these aside after taking them apart and forgot all about them. Since I did not have a work order on these from a vendor I never picked them back up.

And there I thought I was getting caught up here. LOL I can recall I found some rust inside at least two of them. I will double check that again tomorrow and get back to you.

Sorry for the mix up Sir

So the question is....... are they DD2's or did i get ripped off. I'm wondering now if the guy sent me an old set of stock injectors. Can't figure out why rust would have been in them. I've had the Airdog on for years and they were only out of my truck for a week or so.

Let me double check that in the AM, but I am almost positive they were honed RV275's. DD honed the RV275 to make their DD2's back in the day.

I picked these up again today and as I was thinking there is rust inside the one I took apart. It is minor though.

Do you want me to get take them all apart, clean them and try and get them going again?

I got these ready to go now.

Couple of things: These are a used injector. I would be pretty confident is saying they were Diesel Dynamics, but I cant say 100% they are. DD used the RV275 and extrude honing and these injectors are both of those.

Since they are used, the nozzles dont all chatter perfectly at low speeds, but they certainly chatter good at higher speeds. For a used injector I would say they are fine. All of them had some level of rust. It appears to be mostly in the areas that would be exposed to condensation from temp changes.

I had them all apart, cleaned them all and reset the opening pressure to about 290 on all 6. For a used injector that is this old, I think they will be fine. Injectors are a lot like brakes. Once they get some wear anyone can say they are not perfect any longer, but they still have life left in them.

Will ship out today

Any idea of what you might be wanting for them?
