Injector Install....sigh..Differance B/T 12V and 24V

Don’t hate me! BUT i have yet to indulge my self in an injector install. Yes i have read countless postings on the subject and feel like i am competent enough to do it. BUT one quick question. What differences are we looking at between a 12V (2nd Gen) to a 24V (2nd Gen)? Reason, i have found lots of good info for the 1st gen motor and the 24v motor. But none for the 12V 2nd gen. Wondering if they were more like the 1st gen install or the 24V install? Thanks much! ANY tips to aid my quest will be greatly appreciated! I love this site for all the great help and info...Kudos to you all!

Re:Injector Install....sigh..Differance B/T 12V and 24V

well, the differences are pretty big. with the 24valves, the injector is in the center of the combustion chamber so they go straight down under that one big valve cover. the 12valve injectors are at a 15* angle to left of all six valve covers (hence you can see the 12v's and not the 24v's from plain sight). from my experience, the valve covers have to come off on the 12 valves anyways to be able to get a wrench around the retainer nuts. the other main difference is the injector lines, they are much longer and seem much harder to work with on a 12valve (yes, every hold down has to be taken off to do the job right). all six lines go to the top of the P pump whereas the ve, vp pumps are rotary-- so the lines go on the "side" of the pumps. the gaksets used and the style/shape of the injectors are different too, but they both obviously perform the same function.
