Question Injector Going??

Guys the other day I went to start my truck and it would fire and idle where it should but it was rough, like it was missing in one cylinder. If you gave it a bit of pedal it would puff out white smoke. It basically sounded like it was running on a few less cylinders. Are these the signs of an injecter going (gone) south?? it's at the dealer now and there pulling it in this morning to look at it (no codes thrown or anything) so I'm hoping that can tell me what it is, and get it fixed quick. I really can't afford to be down. The manager at the place (who I bought the truck from cause the company has a deal with them) was happy to see me and asked me if I was buying another, I said not untill I know mines fixed (he didn't seem so happy) I'm hopping they can fix it, they said Injecters can be gotten easylie from dodge, ford, or chevy (I guess there are all identical now or something?) So hopefully I get it back. Question is are these the signs of an injector problem??

If it makes you feel better, mine is doing the same thing as well. I haven't taken mine in yet and am not too panicked yet as I have lots of warranty still and will take it in closer to when the 3yr/60k warranty is running out...unless it continues to get worse of course.

I started having similar issues with mine couple of weeks ago. Rough idle
and more rattle then normal from idle up to about 1000 rpm. I have not
taken it in yet either. I talked to my dodge mechanic brother inlaw and
described what it was doing and he said it sounded like a bad injector. But
he also said bad fuel could do the same thing.

I plan to take it in before winter hits.

Have you gotton yours out of the shop yet, if so what was to solution?

just wondering has the morning temp changed at all? And does it do it all day. or just after sitting? If its cooler the truck will retard the timming so to keep emmisssions under control

Truck Back

Got the truck back "Dealer could not duplicate" This is odd. I'm not talking about a knocking sound, or noise. This is a truck idling rough, white smoke and would rev, however it sounded like a cold lawn mower and rev it real fast, it just did a sputter when you rev it. Next time I'm going to video tape it and show the dealer to show them. I'm thinking maybe water in a connection under the hood??? I'm going to get some dielectric grease and put it on everything under there. I'm just glad I got it back. Last time it did this I just shut it off and then fired it back up. Was thinking maybe a lose crank sensor cause it sounded like it, but it was odd. Maybe a loose wire on one of the injectors?? Next time I'm going to pull the head and check. It's only happened twice since I've had it.

On a side note, the engine seems louder and seems like it has more power, so I'm not sure if they cleaned the injectors, or put a new one in, cause it seems more powerful now. maybe there covering there rear's for a recall???

mine idles rough all day long especially after it has warmed up. Lately it has cooled down but it was running rough before the cool down. I think I will try some Power Service and a new tank of fuel. If that does not help it is off to the dealer to see if they can reproduce the problem. I don't have too much
faith in our local dodge dealer at providing good warranty service.
