For cleaning I like Howe's Meaner Cleaner or Lucas. For lubrication you can't beat 2 stroke oil. Just dont run em both at the same time.

When I ran Howe's and 2 stroke at the same time my truck didn't like it at all. It ran kind of rough. It ran better and smoother with one or the other in the tank.

I'd recommend PSP's Diesel Kleen in the gray bottle or Marvel Mystery Oil

Do a search, and you will find tons of debate on this. I usually run Power Service Diesel Kleen (Gray Bottle) with a mixture of Marvel Mystery Oil. I saw a very slight improvment in fuel economy, but nothing major. Next tank I am going to try 2 stroke oil, as many have reported good things about it and it make sense to me for lubricity. As far as an injector cleaner, Most people like Lucas or Howes Meaner Kleener, next time I am on the highway I am going ot buy some Howes and try it. Do a search, study up, and decide for yourself, as you will get tons of different opinions on here. I think anything is better than nothing, especially with the new ULSD. Good luck.

I've always used Lucas with good results in the oil and in the fuel. I've also used the diesel service powerkleen.

For a cleaner I use the Cummins-approved Valvoline SynPower on one tank and the rest of the time is WalMart 2-stroke oil. I know 1oz 2-stroke:1gal diesel (128:1?) is popular but I'm using 1oz:2gal at the moment.

Question

I've been putting anywhere from 8 to 16 ounces of that Power Service Diesel Kleen in at every fill up. Do you reckon that it's okay to do that or should you just put it in every once in awhile?

I have put a mix of Power Service Diesel Kleen and Marvel Mystery Oil in every tank for the last 60,000+ miles. I mix 3 parts PS Diesel Kleen to 1 part MMO. I add 16oz to every fillup, usually 25-26 gallons. Don't know how much it helps, but it sure doesn't hurt.
