injector, and fueling questions

i have a bone stock truck,

im wondering is it possible to tell when you have bad or worn injectors just by how it runs and fuel mileage?

id like to add maybe slighty bigger injectors for a little power gain and fuel economy in doing so will this strain the vp-44? and if i had an aftermarket lift pump to supply plenty of pressure will that still strain the vp-44?

i just want a little more power out of my truck and not looking to run 700hp id be happy with 300 or maybe 400hp but at the same time i cant afford to dump a ton of money into the truck so im looking at simply less expensive add-ons that wont also make it so that i have to upgrade something so then i have to upgrade another part to handle the first upgrade and so on.

any help will be appreciated

How may miles you got on it??

The FIRST thing I would do is a Fuel Press gauge
Then a LP upgrade
neither of these will get you more MPGs but it will help safegaurd some really pricey parts

Usually if your injectors are going bad you start getting smoking problems.
OEM injectors seem to run for a long time.
IMO A midlevel programer would be my first choice and don't touch the injectors til they are bad.

As far as straining the VP i haven't heard of any problems at the lower levels

X2. I would do lift pump and fuel press gauge first. A well lubed VP being supplied/lubed by enough fuel from a good lift pump, is the best way to keep the strain off it.
Then look at the quadzilla XZT+ or Edge EZ. Both around 60 HP chips.
I would leave the sticks alone for now.
