Info on cutting intake off head.

I'm looking for any info on how to cut the intake off my commom rail head. What I'm looking for is the directions for were to cut the head and were to drill and tap the mounting bolt holes and how deep to drill the holes.

Does anyone have the directions and or blue prints so I can do this myself. I'm going to build my own intake, because I'd like to have 2 intake inlets(1 at #2 and 1 at #5)

Thanks for any help to come.

Thanks Tim

I just bought a 05 head off Ebay, so I got thinking about going to the next level.

Did you get the boost gauge I sent you?

Yes got it yesterday. Thanks/ Our results did not amount to what we thought it would on the head. Flow increased with porting but power did not change. We chopped my original 04 head but it did not help much, Tim

You must have won the head I was bidding on. I knew I should have set my max bid higher. What are you going to do with the head you have now?

You can download instructions for installing the Banks, Boss Hoss intake off of the Banks site somewhere. There were instructions for machine shops.

Bummer, but good to know I guess. I always liked the zz-fab intakes & the banks boss hoss intake (don't flamerize me for that Banks comment, unless ya' got a really, really original line please). I always wanted to do a mid-feed intake, head work, studs, & injectors in one pop. If course I am saying that and I don't have crap for expendable dough right now.

I would love to see a before & after test for head-work & a side mount intake.

I wanted to do it too, but I hear that the head has to be modded, and I ain't got the skill for that... or the time.

Banks does put out a few good products. A few. You can quote me on that, too...

I don't have a problem with banks hard parts, but I think everything else they make sucks(thats only what I think)

Madhat

Money isn't that much of an issue, because you know me. I make everything that I can for my truck and other members trucks.

I would love to find the info on wear to drill and tap the holes for the intake.

Madhat- we can hook you up, but I know you wouldn't want anything purple like on my truck

Yeah, banks hard parts are good. Really well made, from what I understand...

Must be nice with the money issues. I spent my twins money on the kids Christmas this year!

Man, I don't care what color it is, the color don't make it go fast. When I get back from Japan in July, I'm looking for a set of springs, gettin a bigger set of sticks, (3.5's at least) dual pumps, and putting my current single on the top of a set of twins... I bet I'll break 800 then...

I'll look at those pics, I just saw that the thread was updated...
