IH combine fuel pump?

have a frieand that has a 99 24 valve and he asked me about puting an intenatoinal harvester fuel pump out of a combine or somthing on his truck and i told i have no idea, whoever told him about has him talked into the idea that it will bolt right on all you need to do is install larger lines that match up to the pump. i did a search on here put couldn't find anything. it sounds odd to me but i have heard wierder things so i thought i would ask you guys to help set me straight and then i can set him straight thank

I don't see why it wouldn't work, unless the IH pump has WAY too much pressure.
That has me thinking, I'm still running a carter and hate it.

what motor is in the combine? I would think it would be a larger engine and I doubt the pump would work. Just p-pump it, there would be alot less engineering involved.

The newer 80 series combines have a 8.3 cummins and the the lift pump that they use is a carter pump. Looks identical to a stock pump on these trucks.

If it puts out too much pressure, just setup a regulator. One call to Vulcan Performance could get you everything you need.

Usually the engines are a 8.3 ISC. I'm not sure if they use the same set up as the ISB's or not.

thanks for the input i guess it isn't as far fetched as i thought it was. i let my buddy in on all the info so far. he says he doesn't want the expense of putting on the p-pump but this route sounds just as costly. but it diffently doesn't sound like it is as simple as he thought though
