If you play you pay

This is a response to (throwing a rod) , I you play you pay, Own warranty station, I have heard them all. You payed for the warranty when you bought the 40,000 dollar truck. If they denied your power train warranty ( because of mods ) they should be obligated to refund that portion of the cost of that said warranty. You paid for it . Or how about giving a option, maybe a 5000 mile warranty at a lower cost. but to loose it all because of mods doesn't seem right to me. Just my opinion

I don't know about that Bank's stuff. Seems to me that there is something funny going on with the six loader, or whatever it is. Quite a few to many complaints on there products.

As far as being your own warranty station, I am. My dealer has the whole scoop on my rig. Besides, I am to darn lazy to go ripping all of my stuff off to get serviced, or whatever.

But, I know better then to do what the "thrown rod" dude did. Power puke, or no power puke, that was insane. But, so was buying the Banks stuff. JMHO

It seems the people less Diesel savvy go after the Banks products.
I think the banks stuff is a joke IMO.

I believe in responsibilty for your own actions but $10000 is $10000. And Dodge doesn't always do right by us either. GM when they had injection pump problems they extended the warranty to 7 years. GM has injector trouble now they extended the warranty. Dodge has had LP problems and IP problems but after 5 years or 100000 miles which ever comes first it's your baby. My lift pump and IP went bad at 58000 miles lasted 25 miles went bad again. I have 93000 on mine now it's my baby. So Dodge isn't the only one getting screwed. I also just replaced my LP again 3 weeks ago on my dime. That's 3 lift pumps in 93000 miles and they won't touch it?

Not good on the lift pumps. But the "broken rod" diagnosis doesn't sound right either. He needs to get that truck to a real diesel mechanic. Sounds like a stuck valve or bad injector. And he needs to get rid of that Banks stuff!

Yep he needs to get rid of that over priced stuff and get a TST or Edge product. OR both but I'd say a feller would have a tough time getting him to stack anything again!

No matter what we do to our trucks we should still exercise good judgement. Towing with stacked boxes on the higher settings is just "not smart" to put it nicely. I've beefed up my trans so it's not even covered under warranty anymore but you can bet that I still take it easy on it because I don't feel like spending $4000.00 to replace it just because I felt like drag racing someone while pulling my 10,000lb trailer....

You paid for a warranty for the truck as the Dodge and Cummins engineers designed and built it. That warranty doesn't cover your R&D to see how much additional power you can pull from their design. Should you want to do that, you're on your own - that's absolutely fair.

Now, if you have boxes and throw a rod, they still have to positively connect the two in order to deny warranty work on the repair (but good luck fighting that one). But if you have a box and the back brake caliper quits working, that should still be covered. Or your radio quits, that's not affected by a box, so should be covered.

Hell, it even states it right in the warranty documents; just what they'll cover and what will void things. You have the option not to buy it at that point. But bottom line is that Dodge is only going to warranty THEIR design and build, not yours. That's fair by anyone's accounting.

You know,...you do have a point. If you intend to bomb away right after you leave the dealer lot, you should be able to opt out of the warranty and get some kind of discount.

Am I ?

But then of course, if you had a power window motor go out, or an air conditioning problem, or etc, I guess you would be out of luck on that too.

Why are yall dissing Banks products..... To each his own, but I think from the posts of the problems from Bully Dog, that I'd be tempted to blame them 1st. Their downloader is new....its gonna have bugs....... now I'd thought about stacking, but now I'm thinking otherwise....... too many computer signals running around that truck???????? I don't think the truck knew which way it was going..... it probably just wanted to

That's a good thought, but it's not quite so simple. States and the Feds mandate certain warranty coverages. Even if a manufacturer explicitly denies something, the law may override that - it's called something like fitness for its intended purpose (that Business Law class was a loooong time ago!).

And, the way the court system and lawyers work, you'd opt out, save your 10 grand or whatever, break your truck and take Dodge to court, saying they deceived you and didn't fully explain what you were giving up when you paid $10,000 less than normal. And by you, I mean the generic "you", not anyone in particular.

There'd be absolutely no way to work that except by raising the price the rest of us pay to cover those who try to beat the system.

Oh well....

Sucks don't it...would have still like a 5k refund for no power train warrenty though....heck make it 7500 or more for the whole thing. I will take my chances with a window motor or ac unit. My 12 year old Ford still has perfect power everything.
